Product description: This Angkor Wat–style bronze statue of Nataraja reflects the exquisite artistry and devotion of Cambodian craftsmanship. The statue beautifully depicts Lord Nataraja, the cosmic dancer and divine embodiment of creation and destruction, standing gracefully upon the dwarf demon Apasmara, who symbolizes ignorance and illusion. Every aspect of this sculpture conveys profound spiritual meaning — from the rhythm of Shiva’s dance to the serene balance of power and grace. In his rear right hand, Lord Nataraja holds a small drum known as the Damaru, his left rear hand holds Agni (Fire), his right forehand is raised in the Abhaya mudra, a gesture of reassurance that grants fearlessness and protection to all beings. The left forehand, pointing gracefully downward with the palm turned inward, represents Tirul Mudra, signifying concealment, reminding us that Shiva is both the creator and the veil of cosmic illusion. The flowing locks of Shiva’s hair radiate outward, capturing the energy and motion of his divine dance, within them rests the sacred Goddess Ganga, symbolizing the nurturing and regenerative aspect of divine energy. Each curve and contour, from the expressive facial features to the intricate ornaments, embodies the timeless beauty and precision for which Khmer bronze art is renowned, highlighting the fine workmanship by our artisans of Cambodia.
