Product description: Lord Karthikeya also known as Lord Murugan is commonly known as the Tamil God , and is worshipped by Tamil communities throughout the world. Tholkaapiyam, one of the ancient texts of Tamil literature identifies Murugan as the red god, and the name Murugan means “youth”. The statue depicts Karthikeya standing on an inverted lotus pedestal with his vahana, the peacock standing behind him. The peacock is seen with its feet gripping onto a small serpent. The rear right hand has a weapon called soola kathi( diamond shaped spear ), and left hand has a trishul. The front right and left hand of Karthikeya are in abhaya and Varada mudra. The most powerful weapon of Lord Kumara is the sakthi Vel which is placed diagonally to the statue. Certainly a beautiful statue of Lord Karthikeya in an antique fine finish.
