Product description: In Mahayana Buddhism, Manjushri is regarded as a bodhisattva who has attained enlightenment. The statue of Manjushri is depicted seated in padmasana wielding a powerful sword called 'Prajna Khadga' or 'the Sword of Wisdom' representing his ability to cut through ignorance and delusion. His left hand is in vitarka mudra ( Mudra of teaching) holding the stem of a lotus flower upon which blossoms the Prajnaparamita texts or perfection of wisdom. The Manjushri Vitarka mudra symbolizes the transmission of knowledge and the teachings of Dharma, and is a powerful symbol in Buddhism often used in meditation and prayer to help cultivate wisdom and understanding. Manjushri is also revered as a compassionate and powerful protector, and is often invoked to help practitioners overcome obstacles and achieve their spiritual goals. There many forms of Manjushri, and the most common Manjushri that practitioner’s refer to, is the yellow Manjushri. The copper statue is handcrafted, and given a two tone finish by our skilled artisans that exemplifies the craftsmanship, and reflect the rich cultural traditions of Nepal.
