Product description: Lord Surya, also known as the Sun God, is a significant deity in Hinduism. In Hindu mythology, Lord Surya is depicted as riding a chariot pulled by seven horses. This iconic representation symbolizes the journey of the sun across the sky. The depiction of Lord Surya with horses represents his majestic and radiant presence as he illuminates the world with his light and warmth. It symbolizes the cyclical nature of time, with the chariot and horses moving across the sky each day, bringing light and life to the universe. The chariot of Lord Surya is called the "Aditya Ratha." It is believed to be made of gold and is described as having thousands of spokes, representing the rays of the sun. The chariot is also said to be driven by the divine charioteer named Aruna (Son of sage Kashyapa and Vinata, and brother of Garuda) who is often depicted as a person with red complexion, symbolizing the rising sun. The seven horses pulling the chariot of Lord Surya represent the seven colors of the rainbow or the seven days of the week, and each horse is said to symbolize a particular trait or quality associated with the sun or its energy. Worshipping Lord Surya may vary across different cultural and religious contexts, and as per Hinduism, the Sun is associated with positive energy, and Sun worship helps to improve mental clarity, enhance concentration, sharpen cognitive abilities, eliminate negative energies, and brings about a sense of purity and renewal.

The wood carving is a beautiful portrayal of the Sun with his seven horses, and Aruna riding the chariot. Surya also known as the Sun, is seated on a decorated chariot in abaya mudra with his rear hands holding the wheel and the conch. His flag is flying up as a visible symbol of power, and the radiance behind his head is carved with precision that exudes a positive energy. The ornamented horses in galloping style is beautifully depicted, and the facial expression of the Sun and Aruna brings out a positive radiance, and the carving is indeed a fine representation of the Sun, with attention to details given throughout the panel demonstrating a fine workmanship by our team of artists. Wall hanging hardware is attached to the panel.
