Product description: This beautiful detailed wood carving depicts Lord Murugan, the revered Hindu deity associated with courage, wisdom, and divine protection. Murugan stands gracefully at the center, holding his Vel (sacred spear) while his raised hand conveys Abhaya Mudra, a gesture traditionally associated with reassurance and protection. His richly carved crown, jewelry, layered garments, and floral garlands bring remarkable depth and character to the overall panel. A peacock, Murugan’s traditional vahana, is beautifully carved at his feet, adding movement and symbolism to the composition. The surrounding temple-style arch enhances the devotional character of the panel, featuring ornamental columns, yali-inspired mythical lions, and a prominent Kirtimukha at the crown of the arch. The warm natural tone of the wood beautifully complements the intricate carving, allowing the fine details of the deity, ornaments, arch, and decorative motifs to stand out, and gives the panel a traditional look adapted for home or any sacred space.
