Product description:The name Naga Kanya refers to the daughter of a snake or Mother Guardian. According to Hindu mythology, they reside in the underworld with immense spiritual knowledge and power, protecting and offering the teachings of the Mother Goddess. In Buddhism, Naga Kanya is perceived as a guardian of the Dharma; the Naga King Muchalinda protected the Buddha when he was in deep meditation during a heavy rain storm. Naga Kanya is most often depicted as a winged woman with the lower body of a serpent, and the torso of a human female with hooded cobras above her crown, and holding a conch in her hands. The brass statue portrays the goddess with the above mentioned iconic attributes, and these serpentine spirits are believed to bring enormous blessings to devotees when worshipped.
