Product description: The Buddha sits in serene meditation, eyes softly lowered, his raised right hand forming the Akasha mudra, where the middle finger gently touches the thumb. This sacred gesture symbolizes patience, focus, and discipline, and in spiritual practice it is believed to enhance the element of space or cosmos within the body, encouraging inner expansion and mindfulness. His left hand rests open in his lap, palm upward, in quiet receptivity. Every detail reflects the skill of the Balinese carver. The rows of tightly coiled curls rise to the ushnisha, the crown of enlightenment. A small urna marks the brow, and the elongated earlobes recall the Buddha’s renunciation of worldly riches. His robe falls in soft, layered folds over the shoulders and across the crossed legs, and the back is carved as carefully as the front, with cascading drapery down the spine. The Buddha is seated on a double lotus throne with broad, smooth petals. A warm, hand-rubbed finish brings out the depth of the wood and gives the piece a soft glow. Bring a sense of calm and contemplation into your space with this hand-carved Buddha from the woodcarving workshops of Bali. It makes a meaningful gift for anyone who values mindfulness, peace, and fine craftsmanship.
