Product description: Lord Annamalaiyar, also known as Lord Arunachalesvara, is a prominent deity in Hinduism who is worshipped primarily in the town of Tiruvannamalai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Shiva is worshiped as Arunachalesvara or Annamalaiyar, and is represented by the Lingam referred to as Jyothi Lingam or Agni Lingam. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Annamalaiyar represents the element of fire and is believed to have appeared as a column of fire in order to settle a dispute between Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, and Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. This incident is known as the "Arunachala Mahatmyam" and is considered significant in Shaivism. The wood carving is a fine illustration of Lord Annamalaiyar with layers of garlands, ornaments, rudraksha mala and with a five headed serpent hood. Some key features of the carving would be the attention given to the clothing and accessories, and the depth of the yoni achieved to the best possible in bringing out the exact representation of Arunachaleswara. The wood panel is certainly a divine representation of Annamalaiyar in an elegant floral frame with hanging lamps, fruits and flowers as offerings at the base, and the attention to details given throughout the panel best illustrates a fine workmanship by our team of artists. Wall hanging hardware is attached to the panel.
