Product description: Kaali is the most fiery and destructive form of Goddess Shakti. Kaali is the Goddess of Time and Death, and the female form of Shiva (Kaala). Her name Kaali means “She who is black”. The ferocious kaali with her tongue sticking out with blood is associated with many stories of destroying many demons like, Rakta-Bhija, Mahishasura, Madhu and Kaitabha, and the stories of Kaali are best told in Devi Mahatmyam also known as Durga Saptashati. Kali Puja also known as Shyama Puja is celebrated on the new moon day of Karthika month, and she is worshipped during festivals of Navaratri and Durga Puja. Kali is primarily worshipped in Bengal, Eastern India, and throughout Southeast Asia in various forms. Kaali, the form of the Mother Goddess though appears angered and aroused, is associated with both creation; cycles of nature, Goddess of fertility, and destruction; destroying egoism, ignorance and evil forces.

The brass statue of Ma Kaali portrays the typical pose of kaali standing on Lord Shiva with tongue sticking out red in color showing blood, and has ten heads with each of the face having three eyes. She has ten legs, and ten arms holding several weapons. Kali wears a garland of severed human heads, and a skirt of severed arms. Her arms holds a severed head and a bowl or skull-cup (Kapala) to catch the oozing blood from the head, a Khatvanga (a club with skull), a shield, a spear, a giant sickle, a trident, a lotus, Sudarshan chakra, and a mace. Her ten legs are positioned in different ways with one of her leg resting on the chest of Lord Shiva. In an incident where Kali was out of control with anger on the battlefield, such that she was about to destroy the entire universe, Lord Shiva pacified her by laying himself down under Kaali’s foot to pacify and calm her.  Born of Vishnu’s sense organs, and being a composite of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, Kali is the Goddess of enlightenment who helps to attain moksha. She dispels darkness from our lives, and protects us from evil forces.
